SCHURTER positions Lucerne as global technology and innovation hub
SCHURTER Group has outlined plans to redefine the role of its Lucerne, Switzerland site as part of a broader global transformation. The company said Lucerne will remain its headquarters while evolving into a global technology and innovation hub focused on advanced manufacturing and key technologies.
The move is part of a strategic programme launched two years ago aimed at aligning operations more closely with growth markets in Asia-Pacific and the Americas. As part of this process, SCHURTER plans to streamline administrative functions and relocate selected roles and cost-driven manufacturing activities to other regions by the end of 2027.
At the same time, the Lucerne site will continue to focus on technologically sophisticated core components and high-value series production. The company also plans to invest in an in-house coating facility to safeguard key competencies and support future technology development.
