NXP “Smarter World Tour” Begins Its European Journey

The Iconic Smarter World Tour Truck Will Bring the Internet of Things Experience to Our Customers With Nearly 100 Stops, in 16 European Countries, During the Course of 2016.

PARIS, Jan. 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NXP’s Smarter World Tour is starting its journey in Europe today. The Smarter World Tour is a highly visible, 36 tons, 2 levels, fully mobile semi-truck trailer designed by Luigi Colani which turns into a large and spacious mobile tradeshow. The aim of the NXP Smarter World Tour in Europe is to allow us to engage with our customers, partners, as well as universities and communities, and let them discover and experience first-hand the breadth of innovative solutions and technology expertise of the new NXP.

The truck features 138 connected demonstrations on-board, highlighting technologies and products that are driving the Internet of Things (IoT) today and connected products of tomorrow, from the world’s smallest microcontrollers to the most complex networking infrastructure through the most secured NFC solutions.

The demonstrations are divided into 6 major areas:

  • Secure Connected Vehicle
  • Smart Cities & Energy
  • Smart Home & Building
  • Smart Networks
  • Secure Mobile, Medical & Wearables
  • Start-ups & Communities

NXP engineers will be on-hand to guide groups and demonstrate the practicality of anInternet of Things that is already here and what’s to come tomorrow. Our visitors will be able to test the demonstrations, many of them being live, and end-user products, all based on our semiconductors solutions.

The NXP “Smarter World Tour” is scheduled to visit 16 European countries, fromFinland to Spain, and the United Kingdom to Poland.  The tour schedule already includes 86 cities, 100 stops at customers, partners and universities. We will also visit local and international events such as Embedded World and Electronica.

The Smarter World Tour starts in France on January 7th. Some of the stops on the schedule include:

  • Caen, on January 7th,
  • La Cité de l’Objet Connecté in Angers, on January 12th,
  • Paris, on January 14th,
  • Toulouse, on January 21st and 22nd,
  • Sophia Antipolis, on January 27th.

In February, the truck will visit Italy and Germany, with activities culminating at Embedded World in Nuremberg on February 23.
