L4MS launches its first Open Call: €1.5M equity-free funding for manufacturing SME’s

L4MS, the pan-European acceleration for using robots and automation in manufacturing industry, has launched its first open call with a total of €1.5million equity-free funding for mid-caps and SMEs.

L4MS (Logistics for Manufacturing SME’s) is now looking for European manufacturing SME’s and mid-caps to develop new, innovative solutions to boost their factory-floor logistic. In addition to equity-free funding, the companies will receive extensive technological support, training and business mentoring from the L4MS network.

The goal of L4MS is to reduce the installation time and cost of mobile robots by a factor of 10. It will enable inexpensive deployment of small and flexible logistics solutions requiring no infrastructure change, no production downtime and no in-house expertise.

L4MS uses an IoT-platform called OPIL together with a 3D simulator allowing rapid prototyping and commissioning of small and flexible, configurable logistics solutions.

Who can apply to L4MS?

Manufacturing SMEs and Mid-Caps, Automation Solution Providers, Software Developers, System Integrators, Mobile Robots, Sensors and Equipment Manufacturers are invited to submit proposals as a consortium or individually. L4MS will help in finding the right partner. Also Competence Centres and Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) can submit proposals

The best applicants with highest innovation potential will get access to: Matchmaking with system integrators and mobile robots manufactures, funding up to €250,000, state-of-the-art test environment within your region, mentoring for innovative business and service models, technology experts for adopting latest logistics automation solutions, training to re-skill workers and finance for scaling up the new business model.

“If companies are willing to dive headfirst to improve their logistics processes, this program is worth joining. L4MS is not just about bringing an AGV or a robot into the manufacturing unit: It’s about looking at the whole process and thinking how, when and what kind of solutions are worth your time, says COO Kristo Timberg from Estonian AS ChemiPharm, one of three companies that joined L4MS as pilot experiments

If you are a manufacturing SME or a Mid-Cap looking to develop intra-factory logistics using advanced technologies, APPLY HERE by 30th Nov 2018 (l4ms.eu)
