StudyWise, an AI platform for preparing and grading exams and assignments in the education system, will join forces with Collage AI, a Boston-based venture, in efforts to personalize teaching and learning at scale using AI. The deal is valued at over $3 million.
Collage AI has acquired the Israeli startup StudyWise, which built an AI-driven platform designed to assist educators with creating, evaluating, and managing exams and assignments. Under the acquisition agreement, StudyWise and Collage AI will join forces to expand their joint team, recruit developers, and begin pilots in the U.S. market. Collage AI is backed by Morningside, a venture investment firm based in Cambridge, MA.
Collage AI/StudyWise’s joint platform aims to bridge higher education and the workforce through artificial intelligence. It helps lecturers and teaching assistants create course materials, design exams, identify knowledge gaps, and support students in their learning journeys and career path discovery. At the same time, it frees-up educators to focus on personal mentorship and high-quality teaching, ensuring students’ success in the evolving job market and helping them find their professional direction. The founders of StudyWise will be integrated into key management roles in the company and will lead the development and implementation of the platform.
StudyWise was founded in 2024 by Ori Nurieli (28), CEO; Chen Berger (27), COO and CRO; and Guy Aronson (28), CTO. The three founders established the company in the middle of 2024. The idea for the product emerged as they recognized growing learning gaps and rapid changes in the world, alongside the rise of AI. The intersection of these challenges inspired them to develop innovative, practical solutions that could make a significant impact in education and higher learning.
StudyWise offers an AI-powered platform for educators and academic institutions that enables the creation of personalized assignments and exams based on existing course materials. The platform automatically grades open-ended questions and essays, tasks that currently consume significant time and is considered a major bottleneck in education systems. It also identifies knowledge gaps and provides each student with personalized recommendations for improving their learning outcomes. In addition, the platform allows instructors to easily manage the entire assessment process while providing full visibility into student performance. The platform integrates with existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and offers a smooth, accessible user experience.
The company operated in bootstrap mode, without raising external capital, and in less than a year organically gained over 150,000 users worldwide, working with leading institutions across multiple languages and regions. StudyWise collaborates with major players in the education space, including Microsoft Education and CET, and has participated in accelerators such as MindCET, 8200 EISP and Meta AI. The company currently works with a diverse range of clients, including ORT Israel and The Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yaffo, as well as pilots at international universities such as the University of Turin, schools in the U.S., and distributors in Southeast Asia.
The company’s pricing model is based on the actual number of users, students, teachers, and lecturers, within each institution. This approach provides full flexibility and scalability, allowing institutions to grow and invest in the platform according to their specific needs.
Ori Nurieli, Co-Founder and CEO of StudyWise, said: “Since founding the company, we’ve experienced rapid growth thanks to a product that meets real market needs, strong word-of-mouth traction, and intensive use of AI to accelerate our development processes. The rapidly growing EdTech field offers advanced technologies for personalized, remote, and hybrid learning. Innovative AI tools enable digital and flexible education, rich content creation, assessment, and adaptive learning experiences supported by analytics for more effective learning. Joining Collage AI and the Morningside family, who bring deep experience and strong ties across the U.S. academic landscape, will significantly accelerate our platform’s development and market expansion.”
