Pickering Introduces LXI High-Current Switching Family for Signals up to 80 A

Pickering Interfaces has introduced the 60-191 LXI high-current and sense SPST switching family, designed for switching and managing multiple high-current power supplies in automated test systems.

The new 4U units, the company’s highest-current switching products to date, support signals up to 80 A and 300 V. Four standard configurations are available, combining up to twenty 40 A and four 80 A hermetically sealed SPST-NO contactors with 1 A SPST relays for sense lines.

Each relay can be controlled independently, while high-current and sense relays can also be operated as a group to simplify connection and disconnection of power supplies. An integrated sequencing service can store up to 5,000 predefined switching sequences, helping reduce host transactions and system latency.

The units feature an LXI 1.5-compliant Gigabit Ethernet interface and support Windows and Linux environments, including LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, C#, MATLAB and Simulink.

Target applications include EV battery and automotive electronics testing, fuel-cell systems, solar inverters, energy storage, aerospace systems and high-current power-supply testing.
