Cypress and Arrow Electronics Team Up to Provide Ubiquitous IoT Connectivity

SAN JOSE, Calif. and CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY), a leader in wireless connectivity for the internet of things (IoT), and Global technology-solutions provider Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced the Titanium board, a technology ecosystem designed to enable developers to create products using Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), cellular and LPWAN technologies, while taking advantage of Cypress’ low-power edge computing capabilities.

The new Titanium board is designed to the Linaro 96Boards IoT edition specification, and features Cypress’ new PSoC® 6 microcontroller (MCU) with dual-core processing and BLE 5.0. With power provided by the Cypress EZ-PD™ CCG3 USB-C controller, Titanium also provides developers with advanced sensing capabilities featuring Bosch Sensortec’s new BME680 integrated environmental sensor for measurement of gas, humidity, temperature, and pressure. The platform is Arm® mBed-compatible, and features a 40-pin expansion connector compatible with other 96board platforms.

Developers can take advantage of the expansion capability of the Titanium board to evaluate multiple connectivity and technology options, such as Arrow’s recently announced cellular LTE-M starter kit and the upcoming Cypress WICED® mezzanine card currently in development.

The board will be available in November. Arrow and Cypress will make future announcements on new products within this technology ecosystem. Customers can register their interest in the PSoC 6 Titanium board and Cypress’ WICED product portfolio by signing up at connected.arrow.com/psco6-titanium.

The PSoC 6 MCU is a low-power, flexible MCU with built-in Bluetooth low-energy wireless connectivity and integrated hardware-based security in a single device. The dual-core Arm® Cortex®-M4 and Cortex®-M0+ MCU architecture lets designers optimize for power and performance simultaneously. The PSoC 6 MCU architecture’s easy-to-use, software-defined peripherals enables engineers to create innovative products, including wearables, industrial IoT equipment, smart home appliances, IoT gateways, portable medical devices and audio processing products.
