AMBER wireless presents its design kit for Raspberry Pi

Evaluation Board Deluxe

AMBER wireless GmbH, a Würth Elektronik eiSos Group company, offers a design kit with which developers can realize applications for wireless connection in the sub-GHz band. AMBER PI is a plug-on board for the Raspberry Pi 3B. Besides the power-saving sub-GHz wireless interface from AMBER wireless, the board is equipped with integrated sensors for temperature, humidity, air pressure and movement. Several components for typical applications of this wireless connection are available, which can be realized extremely quickly and conveniently with an AMBER-PI driver. The wireless stick provided serves as a remote wireless station. AMBER PI is available directly from AMBER wireless from October 2017.

In conjunction with the possibilities of the Raspberry Pi, such as a monitor connection, USB, WLAN and Bluetooth port, the AMBER PI represents an extremely convenient evaluation board for the power-saving proprietary wireless solution – AMB8826. The 868 MHz module has a range of 2000 meters. The driver available as C code enables individual applications to be realized quickly on the basis of the wireless module and the sensors of the board. Typical applications include remote surveillance and remote control, the use of serial cable connections or sensor networks in industrial automation. Thanks to the low energy requirement of the AMB8826, battery-operated devices can also be equipped with this wireless module. The wireless stick provided makes a remote wireless station out of any PC.
