Arrow Electronics Leverages Semtech’s IoT and IC Portfolio; Expands IoT Offerings

Arrow Electronics has announced a distribution agreement with semiconductor, IoT systems and cloud connectivity service provider Semtech, which lets Arrow market the entire Semtech portfolio throughout the EMEA region.

Semtech’s product range includes LoRa® wireless transceivers for IoT end nodes, as well as ICs for sensing, signal integrity, power management, and circuit protection.

In 2023, Semtech acquired Sierra Wireless, already a franchised supplier to Arrow, gaining the portfolio of cellular IoT devices to combine with its LoRa wireless products. The acquisition created a new IoT cloud-to-chip systems provider and the agreement announced today now extends Arrow’s accomplishments with Sierra Wireless into a new mission to grow the complete Semtech portfolio.

“We can immediately start to grow our business with Semtech, leveraging the strong foundation we have already established,” commented Matthias Hutter, vice president product management and supplier marketing EMEA, Arrow Electronics. “We expect to boost our position leveraging the broad Semtech portfolio, in particular benefiting from the extra flexibility to develop the opportunities we see in the burgeoning IoT space.”

“Arrow has a successful track record in our key strategic markets and offers an impressive portfolio of services for customers of all types and sizes that help realise advanced products and achieve enduring success,” said Colin Chew, vice president, business management, EMEA for Semtech.

The new agreement builds on the synergy between Semtech’s technologies and Arrow’s range of associated products and services that helps customers create, connect, and manage IoT devices. In addition to engineering support, Arrow has connected with cellular carriers, cloud providers and installation providers to help customers quickly deploy IoT devices and begin working with the data immediately. The framework helps quickly roll out applications for asset tracking, environmental monitoring, business analytics, healthcare, manufacturing process improvement, and many other uses.
