TE Connectivity’s new KILOVAC EV600 contactors carry 20% more current than legacy alternatives

High voltage DC contactors designed for high performance in power, energy and battery systems

HARRISBURG, Pa.  – July 30, 2019 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, released its new KILOVAC EV600 high voltage DC contactors. Hermetically sealed and designed for harsh environments, EV600 contactors are rated to handle more current than the widely-used EV200/LEV200 contactors without taking up additional space on the board.

Rated for 600-amps, TE’s EV600 is the latest addition to the KILOVAC high-performance contactor line. The EV600 has a 20% higher current carry rating and switches up to 36% more current than the legacy EV200 contactors. KILOVAC EV600 contactors are designed with bi-directional switching capability in order to allow power switching in forward and reverse directions.

“The new EV600 contactors are designed for high current systems in commercial and military ground vehicles; energy and battery storage systems; and power distribution and motion control applications,” said Earle Alldredge, product manager for TE’s Aerospace, Defense and Marine division. “They are a reliable option that offers excellent performance for their size and weight.”

KILOVAC EV600 high voltage contactors also feature electronic, dual coil economization that facilitates low holding power. They are available with an auxiliary contact and 12- or 24-volt coils to match a wide range of power systems.
