Harwin Bestows Digi-Key with Global Distribution Accolade

Harwin Chairman Damon De Laszlo (third from left) presents Dave Doherty, President and COO, Digi-Key (fourth from left) with its Global Distributor of the Year Award.

Based on a variety of different key performance metrics, Harwin has awarded Digi-Key with its Global Distributor 2017 Award. The supply chain specialist has achieved an impressive 40% sales growth for Harwin product lines over the course of the last 12 months and established itself as the connector and board level hardware manufacturer’s number one stocking distributor worldwide.

Digi-Key has also been commended for how quickly it has managed to bring Harwin’s latest product offerings onboard – such as the most recent additions to the Gecko portfolio of compact, lightweight, but rugged connectors for harsh, space-constrained environments. The proactive and focused approach used by its team has been demonstrated to be highly effective – not just in relation to existing market sectors, but also in developing lucrative new opportunities in emerging markets, like medical, Internet of Things (IoT), industrial automation and data acquisition.

“We have built up a strong network of distribution partners over the years and these have proved invaluable in getting our products specified and shipped into a broad array of cutting-edge designs around the world,” states Doug Steele, VP of Sales at Harwin. “This year Digi-Key have really stood out as a powerful force in progressing Harwin’s market penetration and helping to further our reputation for innovative connector, cable assembly, EMI shielding and PCB hardware solutions. We look forward to working with them, along with our other distributors, in the coming years in order to drive sales growth still further.”

“It is a great honor for Digi-Key to receive this award from Harwin. This is a clear endorsement of the exceptional work both Digi-Key and Harwin have accomplished to bring Harwin’s products to our global customer base,” states Tom Busher Vice President of Global IP&E at Digi-Key. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Harwin in 2018 and gaining even better results.”
