Ficosa, first Spanish company of the automotive industry with most European patents in 2016

Ficosa, a tier 1 global provider devoted to the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of high-technology vision, safety, connectivity and efficiency systems for the automotive sector, presented a total of 22 European patent applications in 2016, becoming the first Spanish company of the automotive industry with most patent applications during last year. Ficosa appears in the fourth position of the Spanish ranking of European patents in 2016, behind important companies such as Laboratorios Dr. Esteve, Telefónica and CSIC. In subsequent positions of this list appear companies and institutions like Repsol, UAB, Almirall or Gamesa, between others.

The company plans to increase in 2017 the number of European patent applications by 18% in respect to last year, and for the moment already counts with over 40 patents ideas. Ficosa currently counts with a total of 647 active patents portfolio.
