Panasonic Power Devices on Display at the “Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition 2016” in the USA

Panasonic Corporation will exhibit its power device products at the Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition 2016 (APEC 2016) over a period of 5 days, from March 20 to 24, in Long Beach, California. We hope you will be able to attend.

The APEC 2016 Panasonic booth will present solutions that are made possible by the use of next-generation GaN/SiC power devices in industry and the on-board automotive field. Based on elemental technologies that Panasonic has accumulated, power devices, subsystems, and solutions help to save energy by downsizing, increasing efficiency, and providing heat countermeasures for a variety of equipment.

In addition, various passive components that are indispensable to these solutions, such as compact, large-capacity, reliable conductive polymer capacitors, energy-saving electric double layer capacitors, and compact, high-power, current sensing resistors (shunt resistors), will be exhibited.

* If you are not able to attend the exhibit, we encourage you to see the power devices that will be displayed at APEC 2016, and the solutions that they offer, on the above website.

Panasonic GaN Power Device Features

Normally-off and current-collapse free devices contribute to the safe and continuously stable operation of inverters, such as servers, and power sources. These devices also feature high-speed operation and excellent operating characteristics under high heat. High-speed operation improves power conversion efficiency and downsizing.

Panasonic SiC Power Device Features

By using Panasonic’s unique DioMOS (Diode-integrated MOSFET) structure to add the freewheel diode function that is required by power sources and inverters to transistors, SiC-based modules can be downsized.
