Mouser-Sponsored Formula E Team Preparing for Strong Finish

The Mouser Electronics-sponsored Dragon Racing Formula E Team heads into the London ePrix — the final race of the exciting Formula E all-electric car racing season — with a firm hold on fourth place and within striking distance of the leaders. The Dragon Racing team has a hefty 39-point lead over the fifth-place team and is only seven points shy of third place.

With the cancellation of the Moscow ePrix on June 4, the talented driving team of Jerome D’Ambrosio and Loic Duval has had extra time to prepare for the July 2-3 season finale,a double-header at London’s Battersea Park, bordering the famous Thames River. Each race of the London ePrix is a separate event — with practice, qualifying and race taking place on both days, giving the Dragon team two chances to advance.

“The team is in a solid position, and they’ve had success before at the London track,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President, Americas Business Development for Mouser Electronics. “They had a very good showing last year in London with D’Ambrosio finishing second on the first day, and with he and Duval finishing second and third on the second day.”

Mouser is a sponsor of the 2015-16 Dragon Racing team in collaboration with valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic. This is the second year that Mouser Electronics, the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is sponsoring Formula E racing.

“This has been an action-packed season for the Dragon Racing team, and this weekend’s races will keep that level of excitement,” said Jeff Howell, President of Newark, NJ-based Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America. “As a leading diversified technology innovator and manufacturer, Panasonic is excited to work with Mouser and Molex to help support this forward-looking sport.”

“We’re ready to see the Dragon Racing team take the track at Battersea,” said Fred Bell, Vice President, Global Distribution, Molex. “Stellar performance requires stellar teamwork, which is something we strive for at Molex. We’re proud to sponsor the team with Mouser and Panasonic.”

Formula E is a global racing series from Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sports. Formula E features cars powered exclusively by electric power and represents a vision for the future of the motor sports industry over the coming decades, serving as a framework for research and development around the electric vehicle, accelerating general interest in these cars and promoting sustainability.

“Technologically advanced auto racing provides the perfect platform to raise awareness for Mouser as well as our industry-leading partners, Molex and Panasonic.” McAtee said. “It’s a thrill for all of us here at Mouser to be partners in a high-tech sport that is paving the way for future automotive technologies.”
