Mouser, Molex IndyCar Race Team Wins in Detroit, Charges into Texas Motor Speedway

Coming off a spectacular first-place finish at the Dual 1 race at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, the Mouser– and Molex-sponsored KVSH No. 11 car is gearing up for the very challenging Firestone 600 set for June 11 at the Texas Motor Speedway with championship driver Sebastien Bourdais again behind the wheel.

“We just ran like stink most of the race and worked hard,” said Bourdais. “To be able to come out on top today, it means a lot for the whole organization. We’ve been able to put on some stellar performances … we are looking forward to building the program.”

In the first eight races of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season, Bourdais has finished in the top-10 five times: first and eighth at the Dual in Detroit doubleheader, ninth at Indy, eighth at Phoenix and ninth at Long Beach. The Mouser- and Molex-sponsored car won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013, and Bourdais’ strong track record has pumped up hopes for an exciting finish to the Firestone 600. The 372-mile night race promises to be as exciting as ever under the lights of the Texas oval track.

Bourdais is contesting his 11th Verizon IndyCar season and third with KVSH Racing. In more than 150 career IndyCar starts, he has won 35 races and taken 33 pole positions, tying him for seventh on the all-time list in each category. Bourdais is the only driver to win four consecutive IndyCar championships, taking the title in 2004 through 2007.

Mouser Electronics, the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is very pleased to once again partner with valued supplier Molex to sponsor Bourdais and the No. 11 car in this year’s Verizon IndyCar Series.

“Mouser and Molex are proud to sponsor Sebastien and the KVSH team, and we’re excited to watch them bring their precision and skill to this major race in our backyard right here in Texas,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics’ Vice President, Americas Business Development. “Racing is all about speed and endurance, and Mouser sees the racing sponsorships as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners.”

“Sebastien has been a winner throughout his entire career, and the KVSH team has maintained a history of excellence. We’re proud to be part of such a great organization and are looking forward to a competitive, historic race on Saturday,” said Fred Bell, Vice President, Global Distribution, Molex. “Molex brings the same type of commitment to hard work and high performance as does KVSH, and as a sponsor of the Number 11 IndyCar with Mouser, we’re highlighting our commitment to developing and applying new solutions that move the auto industry forward.”

After the Firestone 600 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, the 2016 IndyCar series travels to six different tracks before ending the season at the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma (Calif.) on September 18.
