mPTech Integrates Infineon’s SECORA Payment Technology into HAMMER WATCH 3

The smartwatch combines a low-power NFC payment chip with a tokenized wallet supporting Mastercard and Visa services, marking the first integration of both SECORA Connect X and SECORA Wallet in a smartwatch.

European consumer electronics manufacturer mPTech has integrated Infineon Technologies’ SECORA Connect X and SECORA Wallet into its new HAMMER WATCH 3 smartwatch, enabling secure contactless payments directly from the wearable.

The project represents the first smartwatch implementation combining both Infineon payment solutions, according to the companies. It also moves the SECORA platform from a ready-to-integrate technology offering into a commercial consumer device scheduled to reach European retail channels in November 2026.

SECORA Connect X provides the hardware layer for contactless payments and is designed for active wearables operating under tight size and power constraints. Infineon describes it as the market’s smallest active NFC payment chip and says it can maintain contactless performance when integrated into metal-enclosed devices—a persistent design challenge for wearable manufacturers.

The hardware is paired with SECORA Wallet, which supports Mastercard Digital Enablement Services (MDES) and Visa Token Service (VTS). These services enable card tokenization, replacing sensitive card details used in the payment process with a digital token.

The wallet also supports Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method, or CDCVM. This allows the cardholder to be verified through the consumer device rather than exclusively at the payment terminal. CDCVM can support higher-value transactions, subject to the requirements of the relevant issuer and payment network.

According to Infineon, the system can be incorporated into fitness and healthcare applications running on active wearables without requiring manufacturers to download and maintain a separate payment applet. The company says users can make online and offline NFC payments at compatible point-of-sale terminals directly from the watch.

The integration highlights the engineering work required to add payment capabilities to a wearable device. Beyond the NFC interface, manufacturers must accommodate secure payment functionality, card tokenization, user verification and payment-network requirements while managing limited board space, battery capacity and the RF effects of the device enclosure.

“With SECORA, Infineon provides a one-stop-shop solution that helps customers accelerate their time-to-market by seamlessly combining secured payment applications with consumer devices,” said Tolgahan Yildiz, Senior Vice President of the Digital Security and Identity business line at Infineon.

HAMMER WATCH 3 is also being enabled through Mastercard’s MDES Express program. The program is intended to simplify how device manufacturers, wallet providers and issuers already connected to the MDES ecosystem bring tokenized payment services to new devices.

“Our collaboration with Infineon allows us to bring secure and convenient NFC payments to HAMMER WATCH 3, adding a feature that delivers real value to users,” said Kamila Yamasaki, CEO of mPTech. She described the integration as a step in the continued development of the company’s HAMMER wearable portfolio.

mPTech will demonstrate HAMMER WATCH 3 at IFA Berlin in September at booth H42-153. The device is expected to become available through retail channels across Europe beginning in November 2026. The companies have not disclosed its price, initial launch markets or the participating card issuers.
