In stock at Powell are Glenair’s Series 806 Mil-Aero Micro Miniature D38999 connectors offering significant size and weight reduction

Advanced electrical, mechanical and environmental performance

Now available through Powell Electronics, the supplier of connectors and more for high-rel applications including defence, aerospace and industrial, are Series 806 Mil-Aero Micro Miniature D38999 connectors from Glenair – a next-generation small-form-factor circular connector designed to deliver full MIL-DTL-38999 performance in a substantially smaller and lighter package.

The Series 806 connectors meet- and often even exceed – the performance requirements of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III. Independent testing confirms their advanced electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance, making them well suited for demanding aerospace, military, industrial, transportation, and harsh-environment applications.

The components incorporate multiple mechanical innovations, including robust insert retention, radial sealing, triple-ripple grommet seals, and an integrated anti-decoupling system. A re-engineered ratchet mechanism, reduced thread ramp angle, and refined thread pitch greatly enhance coupling security under vibration.

Despite its compact footprint, Series 806 devices offer high contact density, supporting size 22HD and 20HD signal contacts, size 8 power contacts, and high-speed octaxial, quadrax, and fiber optic configurations. Available options include hermetic, high-temperature, filtered, and fiber optic versions, as well as factory-terminated cable assemblies.

The connectors also incorporate Glenair’s ultra-lightweight Nano shield termination band, maximizing shielding effectiveness while minimizing weight. Additional enhancements include a top-hat insulator for precise alignment and an O-ring radial sealing interface, improving EMI performance, durability, and ease of mating.
