Advanced Energy Launches Medically Certified USB-C Power Adapter with Level VII Efficiency

BF-rated off-the-shelf AC-DC wall-mount supplies simplify compliance and accelerate medical device time-to-market

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS), a global leader in highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement and control solutions, announced SLE33SPD, a new series of 33 W USB-C wall-mount adapters designed for medical and industrial devices. Engineered for safety and efficiency, these adapters meet the forthcoming U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Level VII standards and offer dual Means of Patient Protection (MOPP) isolation for patient-connected applications, ensuring robust protection and regulatory compliance.

With medical-grade certification and broad compatibility (PD2.0, PD3.0, QC2.0, QC3.0, QC4.0, PPS), the SLE33SPD series eliminates the need for custom power supplies and lengthy verification processes. OEMs can reduce development costs and speed up time-to-market, confident in meeting IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62368-1 safety standards, as certified by UL and TÜV SÜD.

“The SLE33SPD series enables medical and industrial OEMs to eliminate custom verification, minimize development cost and time-to-market, and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards,” said Shane Callanan, vice president of Medical Power Products, System Power at Advanced Energy. “At Advanced Energy, we often stay ahead of the stringent requirements set forth by new required standards. Utilizing the SLE33SPD series gives our customers peace of mind that their equipment will not require any redesign or recertification when the Level VII efficiency standard is implemented.”

Available now for sampling, the SLE33SPD series delivers reliable power from 5 to 20 V and supports legacy USB charging protocols. All products in the series are backward compatible with older USB charging standards.
