Anritsu Joins the OIF’s OpenROADM Interoperability Demonstration at ECOC 2024

Anritsu Corporation will join the Interoperability Demonstration of OIF, an industry organization that establishes equipment standards for optical transmission, at the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC 2024), to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, Sept. 23-25.

Anritsu Network Master Pro (400G Tester) MT1040A transport analyzer will support the Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD), a removable optical module now also specified in the OpenROADM MSA [*1] standard. In this demonstration the MT1040A analyser verifies error-free communication in its connection with multi-vendor transmission equipment as part of an interoperability network simulation.

The QSFP-DD based on 400ZR/OpenZR+ [*2] with coherent optical communication technology offers significant advantages in power savings, space efficiency, and cost reduction, making it a popular choice for point-to-point data center interconnects (DCI).

In a very recent significant advancement, the OpenROADM MSA addressed the lack of standardization for multi-site connections, promoting openness in transmission networks and approving the new QSFP-DD for market use in 2023.

At ECOC 2024, the MT1040A will showcase this innovative, OpenROADM MSA-compliant QSFP-DD in real-time, dynamic demonstrations at both the OIF stand #B83 and the Anritsu stand #C1.

Anritsu, having joined the OpenROADM MSA in May 2024, actively contributes to the study, simulation, and promotion of network openness.
