Nordic Semiconductor showcases Thingy:91 X and other low power wireless innovations for cellular IoT, DECT NR+, Wi-Fi and power management at Embedded World

Demonstrations of Thingy:91 X, nRF54 Series, nRF9151, nPM1300 and more will highlight the capabilities of Nordic’s IoT solutions on Stand 310, Hall 4A

Nordic Semiconductor, a leading provider of end-to-end low power wireless connectivity solutions, will share a preview of its breakthrough “Thingy:91 X”, which in addition to cellular IoT now adds support for DECT NR+, Wi-Fi locationing, and fuel gauging. Also featuring is an advanced Matter demonstration illustrating seamless integration within Apple and Google ecosystems, plus the latest in Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcasting technology, all on Stand 310, Hall 4A, at Embedded World 2024 taking place from 9-11 April in Nuremberg, Germany.

Emphasizing its capabilities in the cellular IoT space, Nordic Semiconductor will highlight how the Thingy:91 X builds on its predecessor, Thingy:91, through an asset tracking demonstration. Built around Nordic’s recently announced nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP), which will also be on display, the Thingy:91 X supports LTE-M, NB-IoT and GNSS as well as DECT NR+ connectivity with on-board antennas. Visitors to the stand can also learn how the new platform integrates nRF7002 for Wi-Fi locationing, nPM1300 PMIC for battery charging and fuel gauging, and nRF5340 System on Chip (SoC) for Bluetooth LE, Thread and NFC.

Furthermore, an introduction to the nPM Family of Power Management ICs, will showcase the nPM1300 highlighting its comprehensive system management features and efficient fuel gauge.

The stand will also play host to an advanced Matter demonstration, illustrating seamless integration within Apple and Google ecosystems by featuring devices from industry-leading partners, and a predictive maintenance ML demo of how to use Nordic’s Thingy:53 IoT prototyping platform powered by cutting-edge software from Edge Impulse.

“As a pioneer of Bluetooth LE technology, Nordic has evolved into a full-spectrum wireless IoT company offering a range of solutions based on leading industry standards, including LTE-M, MB-IoT, DECT NR+, Wi-Fi, Matter, and Thread,” says Magnus Pedersen, Vice President of Sales, Nordic Semiconductor. “Our comprehensive offering at Embedded World this year is our best yet and we are excited to be unveiling it at one of our industry’s most prestigious events.”

Delegates to Embedded World can find and engage in expert discussion about all of Nordic’s latest innovations in Hall 4A, Stand 310 during Embedded World.
