Two new mass production awards with Chinese automakers will bring cars powered by Autotalks’ lifesaving V2X solution to China’s roads in 2023

Autotalks-based V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) solution will power the flagship brands of both makers. The first V2X-powered car brand will roll out in China starting in the second half of 2023, and the other will roll out in both China and Europe starting early 2024

Autotalks, a world leader in V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication solutions, has secured two new mass-production awards with top Chinese automakers. As part of the agreement, Autotalks-based V2X solution will power the flagship brands of both makers.

The first V2X-powered car brand will roll out in China starting in the second half of 2023. The other Chinese automaker, which has a large European presence, will roll out the V2X-powered car in both China and Europe starting early 2024. Both automakers will integrate Autotalks’ V2X in the Telematics Control Unit (TCU).

Autotalks is the only provider in the world whose solution enables a unified V2X subsystem design across all regions. The single Autotalks-powered design supports both LTE-V2X technology for models sold in China and the US, and DSRC for models sold in Europe.

China’s V2X market continues gearing up towards implementation of the government’s ambitious intelligent transportation strategy. All leading automakers, local and global, are expected to start massive deployment of V2X technology in China in the coming years. The market is moving towards massive adoption of V2X as most OEMs are preparing to launch V2X-powered vehicles by 2025.

As of now, Autotalks has secured eight mass production awards with automakers, including the two new Chinese OEMs. The existing awards include wins with global OEMs that will ship V2X-powered cars in China, towards the 2025 China NCAP V2X rating. Autotalks’ former mass production award in China will go on roads in early 2023.

“Autotalks’ breakthrough in the Chinese market is real more than ever,” states Hagai Zyss, CEO of Autotalks. “The fact that two top Chinese automakers selected our end-to-end V2X solution to power their flagship vehicle brands is yet another proof of our ability to help save lives on the roads through our connected vehicle safety technology. We have developed a strong local supply chain to address the growing demand of Chinese automakers and we’re rapidly growing our footprint and track-record in the Asia-Pacific and in China in particular. We aim to win more OEM accounts in China, increase our Tier-2 and Tier-1 ecosystems, and continue hiring more people to our Chinese office.”
