Ericsson drives Azercell’s network towards 5G

Based on Ericsson’s RAN and services portfolios, Ericsson will evolve Azercell’s nationwide mobile network to be 5G-ready. Azercell has the largest mobile market share in Azerbaijan, with about 4.5 million subscribers.

Ericsson will also supply the latest products from Ericsson Radio System and will provide Network Optimization and Predictive Analytics subscription services as part of an initial two-year subscription.

The products and services will help e Azercell to achieve and maintain superior network performance; analyze and prevent network issues; upgrade end-user experiences; and improve management of total cost of ownership.

Vahid Mursaliyev, CEO, Azercell, says: “Evolving and expanding the network to meet ever-growing demands from consumers and business users is one of Azercell’s strategic aims. Ericsson’s new set of services will enable Azercell to provide superior network performance and facilitate the evolution of nationwide mobile networks to 5G.”

Ericsson Network Optimization and Predictive Analytics subscription will accelerate Azercell’s journey to 5G, deliver the best possible user experience across the country, and help meet the mobile data demands of tomorrow.”
