Anritsu wins World-First GCF Approval for both 5G RF Conformance Tests and 5G NR Protocol Conformance Tests News Release Anritsu wins World-First GCF Approval for both 5G RF Conformance Tests and 5G NR Protocol Conformance Tests

Anritsu Corporation, a global provider of innovative test and measurement solutions for advanced and converged networks, is pleased to announce that the 5G NR RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR has won the world-first approval for 5G NR RF Conformance Tests as well as the 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR has won World-First GCF Validation for 5G NR Protocol Conformance Tests from the Global Certification Forum in January 2019.

The NR RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR is an automated system for 3GPP TS38.521/TS38.533-defined 5G NR RF/RRM tests. It supports both planned 5G NR Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, while combination with Anritsu’s 5G over-the-air (OTA) chamber (CATR) covers all 5G frequency bands, including not only Sub-6 GHz but also mmWave. The flexible system configuration can be customized easily for the measurement conditions while also supporting LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and W-CDMA RF tests as well as carrier acceptance tests (CAT); an upgrade from the LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA to add 5G support offers customers a cost-effective RF test system meeting required test conditions.

The ME7834NR test platform is for 3GPP-based Protocol Conformance Tests (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Tests (CAT) of mobile devices incorporating Multiple Radio Access Technologies (RAT). It supports 5G NR in both Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, in addition to LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and W-CDMA. The ME7834NR is registered with both the Global Certification Forum and PCS Type Certification Review Board as Test Platform 251.When combined with Anritsu’s new OTA chamber MA8171A and RF converters, the ME7834NR covers the sub-6 GHz and millimetre wave (mm Wave) 5G frequency bands.

Mr. Tsutomu Tokuke, General Manager of Anritsu’s Mobile solutions division comments, “The past year has seen a rapid acceleration in development of 5G NR Technology. Anritsu is proud to be able to support the industry with its leading-edge test solution for bringing devices to market quickly.”
