Dr. Christof Ehrhart takes lead of Corporate Communications, External Relations and Brand Management at Bosch

Stuttgart – Dr. Christof E. Ehrhart (52), since 2009 Head of Corporate Communications & Responsibility at Deutsche Post DHL Group, joins Robert Bosch Group as of January 1, 2019 to head Corporate Communications, External Relations and Brand Management for the global supplier of technology and services. Ehrhart takes over from Dr. Christoph Zemelka leaving Bosch after 14 years upon own request and for personal reasons. Zemelka who holds a doctorate in journalism has been in charge of Corporate Communications and Brand Management of Bosch since 2014. In his tenure Zemelka has advanced significantly the digitization of the Corporate Communications function. He and his team have been awarded the Thought Leadership Award for digital communication in 2018.

In his new position, Ehrhart will be in charge of internal and external communications, public affairs, corporate responsibility and brand management for the Bosch Group. He reports directly to the CEO of Bosch, Dr. Volkmar Denner. Before joining Deutsche Post DHL Group Ehrhart had been in charge of global Corporate Communications at European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) and of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs at pharmaceutical company Schering AG. Earlier positions include Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations at JT International Germany and communications responsibilities for various media businesses with the Bertelsmann Group. He looks back on more than two decades of experience in international leadership in communications.

Ehrhart holds a doctorate in political science and has been named adjunct professor for international corporate communications at the institute for communications and media science of Leipzig University in 2013. Denner said: „Christof Ehrhart is an acknowledged expert in strategic corporate communications and sustainable stakeholder management. We are happy to get him on board. We are grateful for Christoph Zemelka´s extraordinary efforts, his farsight in communications and his integrative management style. Especially in the area of digitization he has made an important contribution in getting Corporate Communications at Bosch ready for the future“.

“Bosch is a fascinating company which has a long track record in combining innovation and sustainability for the good of its customers. I am very much looking forward making a contribution to the future development of the company in the light of that unique tradition”, said Ehrhart.

“It´s tough to say goodbye to the team. But given the reorganization of the headquarters this is the right time for a change. In the new set up the function will be able to further drive the transformation of the company in the direction of new mobility and IoT”, said Zemelka.
