LG Display Unveils World’s First 77-inch Flexible and Transparent OLED Display

SEOUL, Korea (June. 22, 2017) – LG Display, the world’s leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that it has developed the world’s first 77-inch flexible and transparent OLED display. With this achievement, LG Display, recognized for its expertise in large-sized OLED technology, further reinforced its leadership in the global display industry.

The company’s newly-unveiled world’s first and largest flexible and transparent OLED display boasts an Ultra HD (UHD) resolution of 3840×2160 with 40% transparency and 80 radius of curvature. The panel can be rolled up to a radius of 80mm without affecting the function of the display.

LG Display has consistently advanced the fundamental technologies that enable large-sized flexible and transparent OLED displays in collaboration with the Korean government, which sees OLEDs as the future display technology. This innovative 77-inch flexible and transparent OLED display is just the latest in a long line of milestone products. LG Display unveiled an 18-inch flexible OLED panel with 30 radius of curvature that is rollable and an 18-inch transparent OLED panel in 2014, and a 55-inch transparent OLED panel with 40 percent transparency in 2016.

“LG Display, opened the large-sized OLED TV market in 2013, has been leading the OLED industry and will continue to bring innovation to the market,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer In-Byung Kang. “We pledge to provide differentiated value as the leader in the future display market.”
