ADI Co-founder and Chairman Ray Stata Accepts IEEE Award Recognizing Analog Devices for Innovation and Industry Leadership

The world’s largest technical professional association – the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – conferred its 2017 IEEE Corporate Innovation Award on Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) “for sustained innovation and leadership in the development of high-performance data converter technology and products” for more than 50 years. ADI Co-founder and Chairman of the Board Ray Stata accepted the award at IEEE’s Vision, Innovation, and Challenges Summit in San Francisco on May 25, 2017.

ADI’s converter solutions are used by a broad array of industries to acquire and convert analog data into digital format then compute, manipulate, store, and transmit that data, and provide the processed data back to the real world as analog control, display, or sound.

“Analog Devices’ pioneering advancements in the converter space have enabled some of the world’s most important milestones in digital video, audio, military defense and medical imaging,” said Karen Bartleson, president and CEO, IEEE. “It was an honor to present the award to Mr. Stata, a technology industry icon whose vision and leadership have helped ADI to create an enviable track record in the semiconductor industry.”

“Our focus and commitment to solving complex challenges of our customers and taking risks has allowed us to lead the converter industry for more than half a century,” said Ray Stata, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, Analog Devices. “Our history of developing innovative products and disruptive technologies has resulted from our collaborative approach with both academic institutions and business, and we are proud to receive this honor that recognizes our contributions across the globe.”

Established in 1985, the IEEE Corporate Innovation Award recognizes outstanding innovation by organizations across the world, and recipients are honored for their resolve to discover, extend, or complement technological advancements in education, industry, research, and service in IEEE fields of interest.
