IBM (NYSE: IBM) has named Bill Kelleher as Chief Executive of IBM in the UK & Ireland. Bill succeeds David Stokes who moves to become Chief Operating Officer for IBM Europe following over four years in the post.
Mr Kelleher joined IBM in the United Kingdom 20 years ago following the acquisition of Data Sciences Limited and has operated in a number of executive and leadership roles across the United Kingdom, Europe and Globally during his career in the company. Mr Kelleher has primarily operated in market facing roles which have previously included strategic client leadership, Vice President for the European Communications Sector, Vice President for the Small & Medium Business Sector and multiple Vice President and General Manager roles across IBM’s Global Services businesses.
Most recently, Mr Kelleher was IBM’s Global Managing Director for the Telecom, Media & Entertainment Industry. He is a member of IBM’s global Performance Team and the Chairman’s Growth &Transformation Team.
Mr Kelleher will now take responsibility for IBM’s business in one of the corporation’s key portfolios worldwide and a workforce of approximately 20,000 employees. He will be primarily located at IBM’s Southbank offices in London with his new appointment effective 22nd May 2017.
