Squeezed in a footprint smaller than 1mm2 , STMicroelectronics’ new TS985 comparator combines battery-friendly micropower performance with enhanced dynamic range and high speed.
The 0.8mm x 1.2mm x 0.52mm Chip-Scale Package (CSP) makes the device ideal for space-constrained applications such as smartphones, smartwatches, digital cameras, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and portable test equipment.
The TS985 can operate from a supply voltage as low as 1.8V, allowing use in systems powered from a single cell or generally designed to operate from low voltages to save overall power consumption. Typical operating current of 14µA also helps minimize drain on the battery. High-speed performance is assured, as typical propagation delay of 300ns ensures rapid response to fast-changing analog signals.
Through its rail-to-rail input, the TS985 accepts signal amplitudes up to the supply voltage. This enables designers to take full advantage of the limited dynamic range when operating from a low voltage, and so create portable systems that deliver superior performance and features.
Major features of the TS985:
The TS985 is available immediately, priced from $0.29 for a minimum order of 1,000 units. Alternative pricing options are available for larger quantities.
