ROHM Semiconductor Receives ”Supplier of the Year 2015 Award“ From Continental

Willich-Munchheide, July 25th 2016 – ROHM Semiconductor has been recognized by Continental in the category Broadliner Electronics with the „Supplier of the Year 2015” Award. The highly renowned supplier prize, granted since 2008, rewards outstanding achievements in the production and delivery of products and services. In total, Continental awarded 13 companies, among them two electronic providers, out of 800 strategic suppliers. To determine the winners, the Group executes a comprehensive systematic review based on strictly defined criteria in terms of quality, technology, logistics, costs and purchase conditions.

ROHM received the award during the Supplier Day 2016 in Dresden by Dr. Elmar Degenhart, Executive Chairman of the Board, Continental AG, and Günter Fella, Head of Purchasing at Continental Automotive. “We are delighted to get this award validating our corporate mission and focus on top quality. The prize is both, acknowledgement and motivation to provide high-quality, robust and advanced products as well as best services, in order to support our customers by all means in achieving their business goals,” said Christian André, President ROHM Semiconductor GmbH.

Continental pursues ambitious growth objectives and aims for becoming the leading technology company in the automotive suppliers’ industry. “As the requirements of our customers are rapidly increasing, our solutions are necessarily getting more complex. Powertrain electrification, automation of driving functions, the ongoing digitization and new business models for advanced mobility demand for highest quality, close networking and cross-industry collaboration. Therefore, we include our suppliers as comprehensive and as early as possible in our development and quality assurance processes. Only in close cooperation with our suppliers we can reach the leadership in technology and a high competitiveness”, said Dr. Degenhart.

For its automotive business Continental purchased services and more than 135 billion units of components per year from its more than 4,000 suppliers worldwide.
