Mouser-Sponsored Rebellion Racing Gearing Up for Le Mans

The Mouser Electronics-sponsored Rebellion Racing team finished strong at Belgium’s challenging 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race, securing a solid 1-2 finish in the LMP1 Privateer class as they prepare for the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Expectations are always high for Le Mans, the premier event of the season. After two promising races, the Rebellion team is heading to France with confidence and aiming for another big finish on June 18-19.

Mouser is again teaming with its manufacturer partner LEMO, a global leader in the design and production of precision custom connection solutions, to sponsor the Rebellion team in the 2016 season.

The team kicked off the 2016 FIA WEC racing season in fine form April 17, finishing third and fourth at Britain’s 6 Hours of Silverstone, and taking the top two positions in the LMP1 Privateer class. It was an identical finish at Spa-Francorchamps where Rebellion’s No. 13 car, driven by the dynamic team of Matheo Tuscher, Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori, came in a strong third, closely followed by their sister car, No. 12, driven by Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld and Nelson Piquet Jr.

The talented Rebellion team closed a successful 2015 racing season on a high note in November, with the No. 13 Rebellion R-One AER winning the last race of the season, the 6 Hours of Bahrain. With that win, the No. 13 crew secured second place in the teams’ championship and completed a 1-2 finish with the No. 12 car in the FIA WEC Endurance Trophy for Private LMP1 Teams.

Rebellion Racing won four of the six races in which the team competed in 2015 with their two Rebellion R-One AER cars, including a 1-2 finish at Le Mans. With cars powered by AER P60 V6 GDI twin-turbocharged engines, the Rebellion team earned the distinction of being the top two non-factory cars in their LMP1 Privateer class in 2015.

“Both cars are on track for a very successful season, and we have high hopes for the guys as they prepare for Le Mans,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President, Americas, Business Development, at Mouser Electronics. “Their determination and professionalism in this high-tech sport perfectly aligns with our performance-driven business model and provides an ideal platform to further raise awareness for Mouser and our industry-leading manufacturers.”

Racing is all about speed and endurance, and Mouser sees the racing sponsorships as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners.

Mouser distributes LEMO’s products, including a wide range of push-pull circular connectors and module connector solutions. Known for exceptional quality and reliability, LEMO connectors are ideal for harsh environment, medical equipment, test and measurement instrumentation, telecommunications, audio/video, and other applications.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans, set for June 18 – 19, will be followed by races in Nürburgring, Germany (July 24); Mexico City (September 3); Austin, Texas (September 17); Fuji, Japan (October 16); Shanghai, China (November 6); and Sakhir, Bahrain (November 19).
