Canatu Gains Another Wearables Customer Win with its Flexible Touch Sensor

Canatu, the leading manufacturer of next-generation flexible and 3D formable transparent conductive films and touch sensors, has secured another customer win. Canatu’s latest design win comes from a major global consumer brand customer.

Canatu’s flexible touch sensor, using CNB™ Flex Film, is an integral part of the product. The product is a curved wearable device with a flexible OLED touch display. With the market for flexible displays evolving rapidly, and very few enablers for flexible touch existing in this still niche market, Canatu’s products are garnering a lot of attention. The potential for growth is significant with market research forecasting the flexible display market to reach $23 billion in 2024 (IHS).

“Our value proposition for wearable products is particularly strong. Our films and touch sensors are free of reflections and haze, and at the same time flexible and ultra-thin. We are experiencing a lot of interest in our flexible offering and for a good reason. We are the category leader for flexible touch sensors and extremely proud of this advantageous positioning”, says Canatu’s VP Marketing and Sales, Erkki Soininen.

Canatu customizes touch sensors in various stack configurations for integration on glass or on flexible or 3D shaped plastic surfaces. Both single and two-layer touch stacks are supported. The CNB sensors have virtually zero reflectance and haze, resulting in optically superb high contrast touch displays. CNB Flex Film is specifically designed for touch displays and touch devices in which the touch sensor will be bent, folded, flexed or otherwise manipulated in the end-use environment.
