Conrad Business Supplies now offers renkforce USB 2.0 hubs for industrial applications

The robust renkforce USB 2.0 hubs offer four or seven ports and have been specifically designed for enclosures

Conrad Business Supplies has begun stocking a renkforce range of new USB hubs. The robust renkforce USB 2.0 hubs with four ports or seven ports have been designed by Conrad specifically for the use in industrial environments and factories with high demands on mechanical stability and safe installation.

Both models are optimised for DIN rail and wall mounting. Alternatively, they can be easily mounted with screws on any flat surface. The solid aluminium housing with warning LED protects the hub if mounted with machinery or on the factory floor. All USB ports are protected against voltage spikes up to 15kV ESD level 4.

The industrial USB 2.0 hubs support Hi-Speed USB 2.0 with data transfer rates up to 480Mbit/s and are backward compatible to USB 1.1 devices. renkforce industrial USB hubs from Conrad are based on USB 2.0 technology because unlike USB 3.0 they guarantee an error-free data transfer over long cable lengths up to 5m. With USB 2.0 repeater cables even significantly longer distances can be covered.

All hub connections are mounted in a row, so that all outgoing USB cables can easily be laid in the cable duct. Power is supplied from the USB port of a PC (system requirements: Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1) or via an external power supply if the required total current of all connected devices exceeds 500mA. This power is supplied via a terminal block with screw connections. The terminal block can be removed without opening the screw connections (suitable for 1.5mm² cables). The hubs work with a DC voltage between 5V and 48V.

Capable of operating in harsh industrial environments the hubs support large temperature fluctuations because all components are designed to work in an extended temperature range. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C.

Also included with each USB 2.0 hub (whether four or seven ports module) is a 0,9m USB 2.0 cable, a terminal block with screw connections, an instruction manual and two mounting kits for DIN rails.
