Rohde & Schwarz joins China Mobile 5G Innovation Center

As a new partner of the 5G Innovation Center, Rohde & Schwarz will actively accelerate the progress of 5G standardization and its infrastructure and foster 4G+/5G innovations for test solutions and industry ecosystem support. Furthermore, the company is committed to promote the open laboratories (open labs) set up by China Mobile and other project members in order to provide the platforms for collaboration on innovative products and applications.

Rohde & Schwarz, a world leader in all areas of RF and microwave test and measurement equipment, has been massively involved in mobile radio since the first generation, and is already supporting the wireless communications industry with 5G test solutions for generation and analysis of broadband signals in the mm wave range and 5G air interface candidates as well as channel sounding and antenna characterization. Moreover, Rohde & Schwarz is an active participant in many 5G initiatives of universities, consortiums and operators around the globe.

The China Mobile 5G Innovation Center project was officially launched at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona. The core of the project is the win-win cooperation with appealing 5G industry partners. The Center aims to conduct joint innovation on applications and products in areas as basic communication capability, IoT, car networking, industrial internet, cloud robotics and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), through open labs, and thus build an integrated cross-industry ecosystem.
