FARNELL ELEMENT14 LAUNCHES NEW PANASONIC PAN93X0 SERIES POWER EFFICIENT SOLUTION FOR WLAN

Farnell element14 is introducing the Panasonic PAN93x0 Series, a standalone 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi module, which can be integrated into various end applications such as portable electronics, medical or industrial controls.

In the Panasonic PAN93x0 Series, all protocols and applications are included and handled by the MCU on the module.

Layout design efforts, calibration- and test efforts in production are reduced compared to discrete solutions and in transparent mode all data is sent unmodified to smart devices, the web server or PC applications via the UART interface of PAN93x0 Series.  This significantly reduces time to market and development risks as internet functionality can be added very easily to existing end products with a low performance host controller.

The integrated memory can be used in the end application to store individual web contents such as html pages or image data.

Simultaneous support of Access-Point- & Infrastructure Mode enables easy setup up, allowing simultaneous WiFi connections from PAN9320 to smart devices and home area network routers. State of the art security protocols guarantee secured data transfer via integrated e-mail client or cloud services.

Jesper Rasmussen, Global Category Director, Passives at Farnell element14, said: “Farnell element14 is committed to stocking Panasonic’s newest products and technologies first and has the largest stocking profile in Europe.  The PAN9320 is the latest addition to Panasonic’s wireless solutions available at Farnell element14 including the popular Bluetooth modules like the PAN1740 built into the new Grid-EYE Evaluation Board.  Farnell element14 has also extended its range of Panasonic capacitors with more than 300 parts of the latest polymer capacitor technologies to ensure demands of its core Panasonic customer base are met.”

The Panasonic PAN9320 is available, priced at £11.04, from Farnell element14 in Europe.
