Molex Wins Rockwell Automation Clarinda Young Partnership Award

Award Recognizes Extraordinary Supplier Service

LISLE, IL – November 24, 2015 – Molex, LLC today announced that it was awarded the 2015 Rockwell Automation Clarinda Young Partnership Award at the Rockwell Automation annual supplier conference in Lake Geneva, WI.

The award is presented annually to suppliers in four different categories recognizing the desire to go “above and beyond” what is expected to support businesses of Rockwell Automation. The award honors the memory of Clarinda Young, who, before passing away three years ago, was a key member of the Rockwell Automation sourcing organization. She possessed the “whatever it takes” attitude to get the job done and help others in the process.

“This award is a major tribute to the growing relationship between Molex and Rockwell Automation,” said Melissa Kladder, worldwide account manager, Molex. “Our Juarez, Mexico, plant is a key manufacturing facility that supports this relationship. It has adopted and implemented many procedures throughout the manufacturing process to confirm we meet high quality product standards while hitting an on-time delivery performance above 98 percent.”

Over the past five years, Molex has steadily advanced its status within the Rockwell Automation supply chain, and today is a preferred supplier. Molex often collaborates with Rockwell Automation on cost-reduction projects, using techniques such as volume purchasing and replacing machined parts with cast parts.

In another collaborative project, Rockwell Automation assigned 100 parts to Molex from vendors that were exiting the supply chain. “This helped us streamline our supply chain,” said Steve Rogonjic, strategic sourcing manager, Rockwell Automation. “This project typically involves legacy products where the volumes are not what they were 10 years ago, but, nonetheless, Rockwell Automation still needs to have these parts supplied by a preferred supplier. Molex reviewed over 100 drawings of legacy parts and provided quotes where they could. On the parts that they couldn’t quote, Molex provided market intelligence that helped Rockwell Automation drive additional productivity that otherwise may not have been captured.”

“We’re proud of our relationship with Rockwell Automation,” said John Newkirk, vice president, Industrial Division, Molex. “Rockwell Automation is an industry leader and we look forward to further developing this remarkable partnership.”
